Well, I'm happy to say that I'm pregnant with my third child. Morning sickness has been awful and not so fun. I am praying that my first trimester passes quickly so I don't feel so sick.
I'm taking a break from blogging for the weekend. I promise I'll be back on Monday. Just really tired and not feeling like myself lately. I have some news to share but I'll share that on Monday with you too. Have a great weekend. I, on the other hand, will try to get some rest and relax this weekend.
Here's another card and bookmark set I made. This was what I originally made for the PPA55 challenge but I wasn't too happy with it, so I decided to make something different which was what I posted here. I still wanted to post this up to show you. I just thought that the front was really too busy, although I do like the bookmark.
Here's a wedding card I made for my friend who is getting married this weekend. I hope she likes it. I like the colors on this card. Patterned paper always helps with color ideas.
I honestly thing the cupcake is more suitable for a baby card than a birthday card so here it is on a baby card. I love the glitter, don't you? I couldn't resist it. I also added two coordinating buttons on the top. Love this one!
Don't you love this color combo? Who knew blue and pink would look so nice together? This was easy peasy too but the only thing I had to wait for was the flower on the cupcake to dry. I put it on with crystal effects and it takes a while to dry but definitely worth it because it stays on strong.
I love making birthday cards because I know I can always use it. Sometimes I make card with all these other sentiments and they just sit there and collect dust but whenever I make a birthday card, I know I'll eventually use it.
Here's a card I made for my father. It was really easy to make. I find that when you're trying to make masculine cards, it's best to keep it clean and simple.
Love this card! I just found out someone close to me is having a baby so here's a perfect card for that special person. I made it knowing I was going to give her the book, What to Expect When You're Expecting. That book was totally my bible while I was pregnant and going through so many changes, both physically and mentally.
Anyway, the first picture is the front of the card. The punched out circle is Versamarked with a reading image and then stamped with Congrats in Rasberry Fizz ink. The sentiment says, "There's nothing like a good book." The second picture is the inside of the card. The inside sentiment reads, "a baby is like the beginning of all things: wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities." Below the sentiment is a pocket and that crooked little thing you see inside there is a bookmark. The third picture shows the bookmark a lot better. Isn't this such a cute card and bookmark? Can't wait to give it away to her. I know she'll love it!
I absolutely love this card! I didn't really have any idea what I wanted to create, but oh it turned out gorgeous! I love the colors. I often grab this Rasberry Fizz color. Doesn't it just scream at you? But the green really balances it well.
Yes, school is approaching and this year I am supposed to return to teaching 3rd grade, but I chose not to return. After my maternity leave and a year leave, I decided to officially resign from my teaching position. I think my time with my two boys are more precious right now and it's a time that I can never really get back so I am officially a housewife. LOL!
Anyways, let's talk about this cute card. Have you ever wanted to write a teacher a note? Take a look at this perfect card just for that! The "Just a Note" that you see in the front actually pulls out of the pocket and you can write a quick note in there for the teacher. Cute, isn't it? Too bad my kids are not in school yet so I won't have any use for it, but I have lots of people in mind to give it to (who have school-age children) so they could use it for the school year. :)
I think this card is super cute. And don't you just love that green glitter? Gorgeous! I love the color combo on here and think anyone would love this card. Love it!
Another Pals Paper Arts Challenge! Love the colors for this week's challenge. I also got a new PTI stamp set I've been dying to play with so this color challenge was perfect for it. The stamp set is called All Booked Up. Do you know any book lovers out there? Perfect stamp set for making cards and bookmarks for all those you know who love reading books. I love to read but often find myself with no time to do so. Wish there really were more hours in a day! Isn't this card and bookmark so cute though? Of course, I'd accompany the card and bookmark with a favorite book. It'd make for an awesome birthday gift.
Hope you enjoy the card and bookmark for today. See you tomorrow!
This card was quite simple to make since most of it was die cut or punched. I punched out some scallops from an old book I had and then stamped purple dots on them. I die cut the leaves and also die cut the ticket strip. The base card is cream cardstock cut at 4 1/4 by 11, scored at 5 1/2. Next, I added a piece of polka dot patterned paper cut at 4 by 5 1/4 on top of the base front. The scallops were layered, scrunched up and held together with a brad. In the middle of the scallop flower, I added a button tied with twine. This was placed on top of the patterned paper. Underneath it, I added the die cut leaves. Near the bottom, I placed the ticket strip which I stamped with the Best Wishes stamp. Cute, isn't it?
Here's a perfect card to give a teacher. Back to school is just around the corner and this card is perfect to show that special teacher your appreciation. I know when I was a teacher, I loved receiving cards. Sometimes, you just need some confirmation that what you do is appreciated and that you make a difference. This card was easy, peasy!
I can't take credit for this card. I saw this card on Melissa Bickford's site and absolutely loved it so I had to make my own. I changed it a bit but the flowers and the stem are the same. Don't you love it too?
I wanted to play with Just the Ticket stamp set from PTI. I used a white card base. I covered the upper half the front of the card with a patterned paper and then I stamped white dots on Rasberry Fizz cardstock and used it on the bottom half of the card front. I used a Rich Razzleberry ribbon in the middle of the card and tied a bow on the top. Next, I die cut three tickets and stamped two with "Hello, Just a Note" and one ticket with "Thank You." The last thing I did was just to adhere the tickets. With the middle ticket, I added the white cardstock (which I cut it to look like a ribbon) under it to make it stand out from the other tickets. This card was so easy to make!
I think the colors on this card are soooo pretty. I chose to use a stamp from the Baby Button Bits set from PTI. I also used a stamp from Just the Ticket for the "Look Who Just Arrived" sentiment on the die cut tickets. So cute! Love it!
I love these bright colors together! I went to the recycling center and got an old book and some lace ribbons. I used the pages in the book for the flower I also got some tags that I'll use later on in a future post and some other supplies too. But what a bargain...got everything for a mere $3.00. I have to go to there again to grab some more things. Oh, and the library card actually pulls out to say Happy Birthday on the bottom of the card.
Okay, so here's a card I made using PTI's School Time and Teacher's Apple stamp sets. These two sets work perfectly together so I would suggest getting both. if you're wondering about getting one of them. I love the two sets and they're perfect for teacher gift giving ideas. My kids are not school-aged yet but I already have tons of ideas. I was also a teacher so I was totally attracted to these stamp sets when I saw them. Hope you like this one.
Don't you love this card? I used PTI's Blooming Button Bits stamp set for this one. It is definitely one of my favorite sets and it is one that I often pull out to play with. Love the bow on the bottom too!
Here's a card I made that was super easy but looks super fun. I stamped a scallop flower image out of vanilla card stock and layered that opening on top of buttons. Isn't it so cute? Love it!
My intention here was to make another masculine card but then I couldn't help adding the doily behind the focal point. I don't know why I always want to make everything pretty. SMH... Hope you like this one!
I promised a masculine card a few posts back, so here it is. I love this Mat Stack Die by PTI. You can easily create a focal point and layer it onto a card.
Happy August everyone!I can't believe it's already August! Time flies, doesn't it?
I hope you like the card I have for you today. If you have circle punches, then this card is super easy to make. I took out my circle punches and punched some circles out from left over scrap paper (Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, and Berry Sorbet scraps) and created the flowers by layering the different sized circles on top of one another with dimensionals. The stem and leaves were stamped with PTI's Floral Frenzy stamp set. I die cut the butterflies using Stampin' Up's Beautiful Wings die. And next was just assembling everything. For my card base, I used Simply Chartreuse cardstock, cut at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. Then I used my 1/2 corner rounder to round off the top of the card base. I added a strip of patterned paper on the bottom of the card, stamped the stems and the leaves on white cardstock and added the circle flower tops. Then I punched out a bunch of 3/4 circles in Simply Chartreuse cardstock and adhered them to the bottom back of the white cardstock to create a scallop border. I rounded the top of the white cardstock as well. I layered this card onto the base card, and added the butterflies. I wanted some bling, so I taped a strip of 1/4 Scor Tape covering the top of the patterned paper and the bottom of the white cardstock. I peeled off the tape lining and added glitter, which stuck on perfectly to the Scor Tape. On a side note, I must say that I am in-love with Stampin' Up's Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I've purchased and tried so many glitters out there, store-bought and catalog-ordered but nothing beats Dazzling Diamonds. I can't find anything that shines and glitters so beautifully as Dazzling Diamonds does. If anyone's tried something and find it comparable to Dazzling Diamonds, please let me know. I only say this, because I hate paying for shipping and I use this stuff up so quickly that it becomes a little too pricey and it's not so easily accessible either. I'd like to be able to run out and just get this at a store if I'm in need of it. Not having to place a whole order and wait for it to be shipped would be a plus.
Anyway, this was a super easy card to make! Hope you like it!
